The nephew on Jeopardy
Oh .....He lost. But he did win $10K. That is 1/3 the price of our house so I say that is fabulous!
The nameless BABY
I am driving the father crazy with baby name stress. It's like I suddenly hate every male name out there and none is good enough for my son, So. . . I just made a commitment this morning to not look up a single name, or make any more lists. It is just going to come to me and seem perfect when I see my son for the first time. We all took bets on the due date. Camille 3-5, Savannah 3-8, Kennon 3-6, Brent 3-4. Kashann 3-7. Winner gets to name the baby I guess. I hope Brent wins.
The Sickness
Brent and I are still recovering. Brent can't get rid of a sore throat, and I can't stop coughing so bad that either I've been known to throw up or even have an accident. I have never had this problem before, even with all the other pregnancies but I guess number 5 has done me in. I think I better just stay close to home for the next couple weeks.
The marraige
When I posted the valentine blog I scoured all the pictures that we have taken in the last 1 1/2 yrs. since coming here and guess what? Not a single picture of us as a couple. It is very telling of what happens to you I guess after all these kids. So we are going to start working on lots of lovey dovey shots . . just as soon as I get my figure back.
The Cooking/Shopping around here
Normally I love to cook. I've lost my enthusiam lately. We've been eating a lot of corn flakes actually. Brent came home last night and found no dinner. He didn't even complain, just poured himself a bowl of cornflakes. We have even stopped making ice cream! I miss my bosch. I can't believe how much I was using it.
Yesterday I just didn't cook at all. We had cold cereal for breakfast and the hit the chinese buffet at 1:30. I can take all 5 us of us girls there for less than $20 with a tip. Pretty good deal don't you think? Especially when we don't have to eat any more meals for the next 24 hours.
I know most people around say Wegmans is the bomb, but I just can't commmit to that expensive of a store. So I do some shopping at Aldi, and some at Wegman's. It's a real pain. I miss Winco!
And there is so much pressure here to bring your own bags. Isn't shopping a big enough chore without adding one more thing to the list? Aldi doesn't supply bags, but you can purchase them for $.5 cents a piece. I have maybe bought a bag twice. The rest of the time, I always forget my bags and throw all the groceries all over my trunk, and then take a thousand trips back and forth to the house.
Another neighborhood store I shop at because it is within walking distance and is cheap like Aldi is Save-A-lot. Basically the store grosses me out though because it's DIRTY. And They don't even let you take your shopping carts out of the store, and also charge for bags. So I actually have to walk back and forth from the entrance to my car often when I shop there.
The Dental School Experience
It's really flying by and I don't want that to happen. As much as I might complain about some of the things I have had to get used to here, I really love this moment in time. We have great friends, and really not too many worries. I can't believe I thought it was going to be so hard to make it through these four years financially. We have such little financial stress, (except for the one time last year at this time when we ran out of money and then Brent remembered he had stuck our second semester loan check in a file a couple of months before because we didn't want to cash it right then) It's just cheap living in Buffalo. Maybe I just don't recognize how rough we have it, but that's fine!

If i guess the date right can I name the baby?! I pick 3-5 @2:43am!
Kashann - Good update! Hope the coughing gets under control ....
I just posted something that could take your cornflake worries away (though I don't know if I would have been up for this while heavily pregnant) http://williamandjanell.blogspot.com/2008/02/for-everyone-who-is-sick-of-cooking.html
I can't believe your house was only $30k. That's unreal!
Hey, I was going to see if you'd post on here (or send me an email) with the inside scoop and breakdown of how you manage a $300 grocery bill feeding your family. Will ya? thanks in advance!
I laughed when I read the 'Valentine' portion of your post. All I'm saying is that you're pregnant and therefore there must have been SOME lovey dovey time.
I noticed that with our pictures as well. Once Ella was born, we had her in every picture with us. I couldn't find any of just the two of us.
And I HATE the grocery stores here. Why even have one if they don't carry everything you need? And I hate that we only have wegman's and tops to choose from. I miss safeway.
I can do a photo shoot sometime for you guys! I'm not a pro, but I like the practice.
Kristen, you have every talent in the world. But I would love to take you up on that.
You take awesome pictures!
