Last night we had the missionaries over and decided to eat outside. Of course the four little girls had to show-off their skills on the new rope I hung from the tree, and of course they all had to do it at the same time. The typical scene of whining and crying ensued until I finally got fed up and said, "No more rope swing"!
Caroline has been going to bed late every night so this sent her over the edge. I sent her in the house. She refused to go until I made "The Threat". She ran in the house and I forgot about her until the missionaries left about 15 minutes later.
Once they left Kashann noticed for the first time that she was missing a child, and asked "Where's Caroline?" I told her I had sent her in crying and so she went to see what she was up to. She came back out a bit panicky and we all went in and the search began. We combed the house over twice looking under all the beds, in the closets, everywhere. I figured she must have crawled into a corner and fallen asleep but after searching the house two more times we were getting scared. I thought maybe she took off, after me telling her she might get a spank and headed for the corner store, the carnival...who knows where she might have gone?
I hopped on the moped and started cruising the streets. Kashann and the girls said a prayer and started looking in cars, the oven, dishwasher, the boat but found nothing. I came back and she was still missing. Kashann finally called 911 to report a missing child while I hit the road again.
Savannah decided to check under our bed for the fifth time and saw a little green skirt on top of the Sterilite box. It was such tight spot and she lay so still that Savannah thought she had found a dead body and didn't want to touch her. She yelled at Kashann to yank her out. Kashann pulled her all the way out before she uttered a sound. As she woke up the first words out of her mouth were, " No, I don't want a spank".
