Not the most manly nursery for our little guy. But I sleep in there too so it's actually not all his anyway. The S is for Sweet Savannah who was nice enough to move out for a little while. Brent and I are mostly enjoying our new sleeping arrangements. I say mostly because one of us is in sleep heaven and may never let the other come back and the other one sometimes misses her old room and undisturbed nights. But it's temporary and really I am just so grateful to have a spot for me and my little newborn. Thanks Savannah! She started out sleeping with Marcus but after two weeks I couldn't take the mess and new decor of a teenager sleeping with my son in his sailboat room and I moved her up to Camille's room. Now that room is driving me crazy.
This is the car seat that we were hoping to bring our newborn safely home from the hospital in. Until the nurses tipped it over and checked the expiration date stamped below. They sent Brent shopping before we were discharged and baby #6 went home in a brand new car seat. We are still debating returning the legal one. So much for NH and their so called no seat belt laws.
We were back at church with our one week old to have him blessed. Grandma didn't even have time to send him a specially made baby suit. I like blessing them when they are still new and sleepy. We weren't lucky enough to have family in town, but we were happy to have our next door neighbor's show up to see how a Mormon boy is blessed. They are really becoming like family. . since we just don't have any around. Thanks to our decision to be here in the first place.
They left after Sacrament Meeting and missed the excitement that came later. Marcus pulled the fire alarm. He usually pushes the blue handicapped buttons by the front door to open them and this time noticed there was a red lever right next to the blue buttons. Maybe this red lever was to close the door? We all evacuated out to the cold till the fireman came. By that time the ward had narrowed it down to my family and we finally asked Marcus and he fessed up. He was so embarrassed and repentant. And sad. He started bawling immediately and took off to hide in the bushes as soon as he confessed.

Brent left in the afternoon to home teach before I could get a picture with him and his son. So Calvin waited patiently all day long in his blessing outfit for his Dad, whom after arriving home late at night had the white shirt off so quick I wasn't able to stop him.
And I am sure I have mentioned before how thrilled my husband is about pictures.  Especially dressing up for them. But he loves me and put the tie and shirt back on. Hardly worth the effort though since  this is what we got.

Here it comes. . . Nice plan to toss him, Brent. It stopped the screams but brought the spit up.

So no sweet father/son shots. Just a mad father that the shirt that was hanging in his closet for next Sunday was now covered in baby spit up.

Life is pretty busy since coming home from the hospital. But there is always someone wanting to hold Calvin in the evening when it is busy. And during the day I can barely put him down after feeding him because he is just too warm and snugly.

I was sent to my second auction last Tuesday. Remember how the last one went? I accidentally bid on the wrong house and with too much money because I wasn't watching my hand gestures. I cost someone another $20,000. So I was really nervous that I was the one being forced to the bidding again.
But we found a building in a great location for our practice. It was another foreclosure and could go for a great price and Brent was working so it was up to me and the two boys to go and bid.

I won. It was all over so quickly. I only nodded twice and before I knew it everyone was congratulating me. And we now have a big project on our hands.

Brent came running over 5 minutes after I was awarded the bid. (It is the building right across the street from the office we are currently renting.) Even though I got it well below the price we agreed to not go above he is convinced that I could've got it for $20,000 less if I had stuck to the plan to go up in $5,000 increments. Not the $25 grand increments that they coerced me into. Like I said it all happened so fast. I guess it was payback time for bidding someone up last time.

We are really excited about owning our own office and think it's going to be great. If we can just get through the next few months of renovation that is.  It is currently zoned commercial but it is a 3 story colonial house that will need lots of converting to turn it into the ideal dental office.

Pretty crazy that we just bought our second foreclosure in less than six months. We just go looking for this kind of stuff and BAM . .there we go again with another project.
