I hadn't made this recipe forever. Camille loved those buns and decided she was going to make a couple sandwiches to bring to school the next day. She made one pickle and one PB and J.
That afternoon she told me, "Mom, everyone at school loved my buns. My teacher came over to me and she said,
"Oooh, Camille let me see those buns. I wonder where I could get some buns like that."
"Then everyone else started looking at my buns, and saying Oooh, Camille we love your buns."
Then she paused, thought for a second and said, "Actually, they loved YOUR buns, Mom!"
I was laughing by then and she finally caught on.
Since then I have had a good time teasing her about coming home from school bragging that everyone loves her buns.
Last week I went to parent teacher conferences and found out she didn't make anything up. Ms. Trusello brought up the yummy buns right away. I told her I already knew all about how much she loved my buns.

Kashann I always enjoy reading through your blog. Hope you don't mind! I am going to try to make your buns...I mean your grandma's famous Hot Buns. They seem so simple to make! Thanks for sharing...even with us "blog-stalkers". :-D
So what is a pickle sandwich?
it means that you don't have any lunchmeat in the fridge. Camille will eat anything that has a pickle in it.
I'm definitely going to try these because we can't buy buns here. Great story.
