Marcus sick, Kashann on a diet

Marcus is still running a fever and has been to the Dr. twice already since we got home on Tuesday. I figured that it was an ear infection, but they couldn't find anything wrong with him. Most likely just a summer virus but because it is lingering and he is so young they also did a blood test this morning. Maybe it's typical but I can't stand to see a needle get wiggled around forever in my baby's arm and a finger pressing on the vein to get it going. They finally gave up on that arm after several minutes and tried the other, which was much more willing to give up some blood. He screamed while I cried. The Dr's office called back just now and said everything looks good as far as his tests go so I guess now I am just waiting for this virus to pass.

He has had a miserable last 3 days. He usually is constantly spitting but now it has turned into constantly throwing up.

On top of that his Dr. suggested that I alter my diet to help with his reflux. So now I am on a NO dairy, tomatoes, acidic fruit, leafy vegetables, chocolate, or spicy food diet. I am basically eating all bland boring food and I hate it. And it's not like I am going to lose any weight because she thought fats and sugars are just fine. Basically I just have to skip all the healthy stuff and my wonderful garden! And the worst part is I don't even think that is the problem. I think he's not ready to hold much food no matter what it is. And so far it is definitely not working.

But I am going to stick with this for a while yet and see if he stops spitting up, (that is once he stops throwing up) then slowly just add stuff back into my diet and see if it starts up again.

Good luck Kashann. I say just go off of the dairy for three weeks. I would talk to your doctor about taking him to an allergist.

that's scary. aidan spit up constantly until about 6 months then he just sort of stopped. my dr. wasn't worried unless i thought it was painful for him.

I hate seeing my babies get pricked too, I'm sorry! Sorry about the diet too, that's no fun. What growing in your garden?? I'd love to hear about it. I forgot you used to live on a farm, I should be calling you with all my gardening questions....
