Marcus's One Month Birthday

Caroline thinks that Marcus is the "Beautiful Sun" that her father expressed his gratitude for in family prayer one bright sunny morning this week. She came over and kissed him right after greeting her brother "Hey Beautiful Son!"
Caroline insists on being called the babysitter. Her duties include throwing away every single dirty diaper (a full time job with this kid) and fetching everything else a mother might need while sitting on the couch ALL DAY LONG! A drink, burp clothes, telephone, remote, book, etc.

It is wonderful to have 4 full time babysitters.

He's our first baby that likes a pacifier! Which translates to way less crying! Even
Camille can keep him happy for over an hour sitting by him and popping it back in his mouth over and over and over. . .

And they all beg me to take him to bed with them every night so they can lay by him for an hour and hold his paci in his mouth.

Savannah is especially good at this and sometimes it really is great to be able to go brush teeth, change, etc and then go get the baby after she has been snuggling him in her bed.

I think we really did it right, having our kids the way we did. Thank Heaven 4 little girls. And also for a beautiful "sun" !

This has probably been one of my happiest months as a mom ever.

He TOTALLY looks like Uncle Brent. Oh my! Very cute baby, and so chubby already.

PS Do stay home. My Liv got RSV at 10 days and I swear she was sick for two years straight (including being on oxygen for a month and nebulizers several times per year). Use hand sanitizer and keep that baby home--it's worth it.

So are mom and baby ready for the LOOONG flight to Washington? The dread of our flight is already beginning.

You know what? I have hardly worried about it. I am thinking it is going to be okay. I don't have any kids in the almost terrible two's like you will on yours. And I have flown standby with 4 kids so having tickets sounds like a breeze.

O.K. Kashann--Rebecca told me about your blog awhile ago, but it kept taking me to an entry from oct. 2007 so I just figured you'd stopped blogging until I just recently read in your archive and found the more recent blogs. Anyways, I've had you on my list, but figured maybe you'd quit blogging when I only saw your blogs back in 2007 so I never left a message. Anyways, you are so funny. And Marcus is so cute. You're whole labor and delivery was fun to hear about. You're a trooper. And, YAY!!! You got a bigger vehicle. Sounds like we'll see you in a couple weeks. Jennifer

yeah, I am so happy for you that you have a son, or "sun". I'm telling you, boys are way easier than girls!! Now you just need one more boy so he isn't quite so outnumbered...
